Who really owned 2026? On the men’s side, it was a close race. This year brought huge comebacks, a history-making Super Bowl show and new voices that jumped from TikTok to arenas. So we dug into charts, tours and Grammy wins to rank the top male singers of 2026.

If you read our list of the top female singers in the world, think of this as the other half of the story. Women ruled the Hot 100 for much of 2026. Still, these ten men delivered some of the year’s biggest moments.

First comes a quick summary table, then a closer look at each artist. Also, stick around for the FAQ, because the 2027 Grammy nominations land later this month.

1. Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars waited nearly a decade to release a new solo album, and the wait paid off. When “I Just Might” arrived in January, it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Surprisingly, that was the first No. 1 debut of his career, and his 10th chart-topper overall.

Then The Romantic landed on February 27 and opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. As a result, “I Just Might” climbed back to the top of the Hot 100 that same week. On top of that, he spent April to October on the Romantic Tour.

It was his first full stadium tour, with more than 70 shows across North America and Europe. Meanwhile, Spotify data this year showed him with more monthly listeners than any other artist.

Signature songs: “I Just Might,” “Risk It All” and “Die With a Smile” with Lady Gaga.

Fun fact: He performed “I Just Might” inside the Roblox game Steal a Brainrot for more than 12.8 million players at once. That set a record for the most-watched virtual concert by a single artist.

Our take: Nobody makes retro funk feel this fresh. So with a No. 1 single and a No. 1 album, he earns the top spot.

2. Bad Bunny

Male music artist wearing modern black streetwear and sunglasses in a cinematic studio setting.

Few artists have ever had a week like Bad Bunny’s in February. First, Debí Tirar Más Fotos won Album of the Year at the 2026 Grammys. It became the first Spanish-language album to take the top prize.

Seven days later, he headlined the Super Bowl LX halftime show. In fact, he was the first male solo Latin artist to headline it. He also performed the entire set in Spanish, another first. Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin joined him on stage, too.

After that, the streams exploded. “DtMF” rose to No. 1 on the Hot 100, giving him his first solo chart-topper. On Spotify, he’s also the most-streamed male artist in the platform’s history.

Signature songs: “DtMF,” “BAILE INoLVIDABLE” and “EoO.”

Fun fact: He won three Grammys that night, including Best Global Music Performance for “EoO” and Best Música Urbana Album.

Our take: No male artist had a bigger cultural moment this year. It’s razor close, and Bruno only edges him on chart consistency.

3. Harry Styles

Male singer wearing a sophisticated burgundy suit in an elegant luxury interior.

Harry Styles went quiet for almost four years, then came back louder than ever. His fourth album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally., opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 430,000 units in March.

At the time, that was the biggest opening week of 2026. That made him the first solo act since Alicia Keys to debut at No. 1 with his first four albums.

Before the album dropped, lead single “Aperture” also debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100. Later, “American Girls” entered at No. 4. Then he took the record on the road with the Together, Together tour, built around residencies in seven cities.

Signature songs: “Aperture,” “American Girls” and “As It Was.”

Fun fact: “Aperture” was his second song to debut at No. 1, after “As It Was” in 2022.

Our take: The album title alone is a whole mood. Even so, it’s his confidence on stage that keeps him in the top three. For more stars from this side of the Atlantic, see our list of popular European female singers.

4. Morgan Wallen

Country-style male singer wearing a dark casual jacket in a countryside setting.

Morgan Wallen’s 2025 album I’m the Problem simply refused to slow down this year. In fact, Luminate named it America’s most popular album for the first half of 2026.

Meanwhile, he played sold-out stadiums on the 23-date Still The Problem Tour, which started April 10 in Minneapolis. Then, in July, he released “Been By Now,” his first solo song of the year.

The track debuted at No. 2 on the Hot 100, right behind Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas.” Still, it helped make history, because the top five that week were all country songs for the first time ever.

Signature songs: “Been By Now,” “I Got Better” and “What I Want” with Tate McRae.

Fun fact: He is the highest-certified country artist in RIAA history.

Our take: Country fans already knew this. However, his 2026 numbers prove he’s one of the biggest stars in any genre.

5. Justin Bieber

Male pop artist wearing a dark outfit in a modern industrial photography studio.

After years away from big stages, Justin Bieber made 2026 his comeback year. His 2025 albums SWAG and SWAG II set it up, and SWAG earned an Album of the Year nomination.

At the Grammys in February, he gave a bare-bones solo performance of “Yukon” with just a guitar. Complex called it one of the strongest performances of the night.

Then, in April, he headlined Coachella for the first time, across both weekends. On the first weekend, he brought out Nigerian stars Wizkid and Tems.

Signature songs: “Daisies,” “Yukon” and “Go Baby.”

Fun fact: According to Rolling Stone, he negotiated his Coachella deal directly, without an agent.

Our take: This is the most relaxed he has ever sounded. Because of that, the new era feels like a fresh start instead of a nostalgia trip.

6. Noah Kahan

Bearded male singer wearing an earthy jacket in a scenic outdoor countryside setting.

Noah Kahan finally got the No. 1 album his fans always said he deserved. The Great Divide arrived in April and debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 with 389,000 units.

The record also hit No. 1 in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands and Switzerland. On top of that, the title track opened at No. 6 on the Hot 100, his first top-10 debut.

In May, he returned to Saturday Night Live, with fellow New Englander Matt Damon as host. By July, he was headlining two nights at Citi Field in New York.

Signature songs: “The Great Divide,” “Stick Season” and “Dial Drunk.”

Fun fact: During the new album’s rollout, his older record Stick Season climbed back into the Billboard 200 top 10.

Our take: Folk-pop rarely gets this big. Still, he writes stadium-sized songs that feel like late-night talks with a friend.

7. The Weeknd

Male R&B artist wearing a black suit in a dramatic red-lit architectural setting.

The Weeknd spent 2026 doing what he does best: filling stadiums. His After Hours Til Dawn tour, already a record-breaker, rolled through Latin America, the UK and Europe this year.

The European leg kicked off June 11 at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium. According to Billboard, the 2026 shows alone were on pace for about $440 million in ticket sales. Those dates were also expected to draw more than 3 million fans.

London got five nights at Wembley Stadium, while Milan, Amsterdam and Stockholm each hosted three-night runs.

Signature songs: “Blinding Lights,” “Starboy” and “Timeless.”

Fun fact: He was the first artist to have 30 songs pass one billion streams on Spotify.

Our take: His live show is pure cinema. Few singers on earth can fill stadiums night after night like he does.

8. Alex Warren

Young male singer wearing a dark casual jacket in a professional recording studio.

Alex Warren turned social media fame into a real music career, and fast. His 2025 smash “Ordinary” spent 10 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also ruled the UK Singles Chart for 13 weeks.

Then 2026 raised the stakes. In February, he was a Best New Artist nominee and performed at the Grammys. Later that month, he released “Fever Dream,” which drew over 5.1 million Spotify streams in its first 24 hours.

In May, he started headlining US arenas for the first time, with a stop at Madison Square Garden in July. After that, he took the show to arenas in Australia and New Zealand.

Signature songs: “Ordinary,” “Fever Dream” and “Bloodline” with Jelly Roll.

Fun fact: Before the Grammy nod, he won Best New Artist at the 2025 MTV VMAs.

Our take: Some critics find his style too earnest. Honestly, that’s exactly why millions of fans connect with him.

9. Leon Thomas

Male R&B singer wearing a tan jacket while sitting inside a professional music recording studio.

Leon Thomas spent years writing for other stars before stepping into the spotlight. In February, he won two Grammys: Best R&B Album for MUTT and Best Traditional R&B Performance for “VIBES DON’T LIE.”

He went into the night with six nominations, including Album of the Year and Best New Artist. After that, he joined Bruno Mars on select dates of the Romantic Tour and released a new EP, PHOLKS.

Then, in June, ASCAP honored him with its Vanguard Award for shaping the future of R&B.

Signature songs: “MUTT,” “VIBES DON’T LIE” and “YES IT IS.”

Fun fact: Before his solo breakout, he co-wrote SZA’s “Snooze,” which won the Grammy for Best R&B Song in 2024.

Our take: His mix of rock guitar and old-school soul feels like a modern spin on legends like D’Angelo. For R&B fans, he’s the most exciting male voice right now.

10. Sombr

Young male alternative pop singer with wavy dark hair wearing a black outfit in a recording studio.

Sombr is proof that TikTok buzz can turn into real staying power. The New York-born singer, whose real name is Shane Boose, broke out with “back to friends.” That song peaked at No. 7 on the Hot 100 and later passed one billion Spotify streams.

At the 2026 Grammys, he was a Best New Artist nominee. In April, he played Coachella on both weekends. He also kept fans busy with new singles “Homewrecker” and “Potential.”

Then came his biggest headline run yet. The 37-date You Are The Reason tour is his first North American arena tour, and it kicked off in Vancouver this fall.

Signature songs: “back to friends,” “undressed” and “12 to 12.”

Fun fact: On Billboard’s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, “back to friends” replaced his own “undressed” at No. 1.

Our take: He’s the newest star on this list, and he’s growing fast. Give him two years, and he could crack our top five.

How We Ranked Them

To build our list of the top male singers of 2026, we looked at results from this year only. That means Billboard chart peaks, album debuts, Spotify listener data, tour size and major awards. You can track the latest moves on the official Billboard Hot 100 chart.

We also focused on artists known mainly for singing. So rap-first stars like Drake, who held the top three spots on the Billboard 200 in May, will get their own list. Honorable mention goes to Benson Boone, too, for his busy Wanted Man Tour.
